What are Programming Languages | Introduction to Programming | Creative Hackerz

Programming Languages are some set of rules which allow us to interact with computers, Mobile phones and other electronic devices and make them to do specific tasks

Languages has been the primary way of communication between humans since they started to evolve. Programming language has a specific set of keywords, along with a special syntax to organize the instructions for the software.

Programming Languages are of different types - Some of them are very easy to understand and some of them are hell of difficult to understand.

Most programming languages consist of instructions for computers. There are programmable machines that use a set of specific instructions, rather than general programming languages. Early ones preceded the invention of the digital computer, the first probably being the automatic flute player described in the 9th century by the brothers Musa in Baghdad, during the Islamic Golden Age.[1] Since the early 1800s, programs have been used to direct the behavior of machines such as Jacquard looms, music boxes and player pianos.[2] The programs for these machines (such as a player piano's scrolls) did not produce different behavior in response to different inputs or conditions.

Even if several languages share similarities, each language has its own syntax. Once a programmer learns the rules, syntax, and structure of the languages, they write the source code into a text editor or IDE. The programmer then also compiles the code into a machine language which the computer can understand. Scripting languages which do not allow a compiler to execute the script using an interpreter.

FIRST PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES IN HISTORY

The first officially known programming language for a computer was Plankalkül, designed between 1943 and 1945 by Konrad Zuse; despite this, its effective implementation took place in 1998. However, the first universal language was FORTRAN, created in 1957 by John Backus of IBM.
Other programming languages, such as Autocode, COBOL, FLOW-MATIC and LISP, emerged and developed in the 1950s and 1960s. Of these, only COBOL and LISP are currently active in programming.
